Emmaus South Lambeth is currently looking for an
Events Manager
We are looking for an enthusiastic, confident volunteer to organise and be
fully responsible for our stand at the Lambeth Country Show
to raise funds through the sale of
goods and to promote Emmaus.
There is also scope to organise
other fundraising or promotional events.
We are looking for someone with experience of organising an event with
project management skills who can develop ideas and use their initiative
and make things happen. The role requires leadership and someone with the
ability to create and work with a team of people (volunteers and formerly
homeless people) from diverse backgrounds. You will need to be organised
and quickly able to develop strong working relationships. Duties include
planning and budgeting, agreeing size and scope of stand, publicity and
communications, negotiating, networking and research.
Emmaus South Lambeth is a lively social enterprise which provides
previously homeless people with accommodation and meaningful work through
the sale of donated furniture and household goods. Through having work,
community living and support, our resident companions are able to regain
their self-respect, rebuild their life and develop skills to lead an
independent life.
Working hours are flexible, ideally 2 days per week for 4 months minimum,
starting in early April. You must be available on 16-17 July and the days
preceding this.
